About Joshua Leyenhorst, CEPA, CPA

Joshua Leyenhorst is an Accounting and Finance Professional, who works with Small and Medium Sized Businesses (SMB's) to help them maximize their business value by optimizing both profitability and operational efficiency. After running finance operations in the commercial construction sector, and working for a number of years as a public practice accountant, Joshua founded BasePoint Accounting and Finance Inc., which is a cloud-based CPA firm in Canada, serving as a one-stop shop for all operational accounting and business advisory needs, providing solutions for businesses at all stages, from bookkeeping and tax planning and filing to fractional Controller and CFO services.

Joshua holds a BSc. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, and is also a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). Describing accounting as "the science of business", Joshua thoroughly enjoys diving into how the numbers tell the story of the business, "at the DNA level". His emphasis to business owners is the importance of knowing their numbers and the story that the numbers tell, and understanding the steps they can take from there to write the next chapters of the story of their business, to take it to where they want it to go.
